Alejandro Morales Mansito has been re-elected as president of the Inter-island Football Federation of Tenerife for the 2026–2030 term, focusing his new mandate on facility modernization, grassroots development, and hosting major sporting events.

The Inter-island Football Federation of Tenerife (FIFT) has entered a new chapter following the re-election of Alejandro Morales Mansito as president for the 2026–2030 term. The Tenerife-born leader secured his position after being the only candidate to meet all regulatory requirements; a rival bid from Ramón Hernández Baussou was disqualified due to incomplete administrative paperwork.

This result marks a turning point for the federation, which has spent the last few years addressing a significant financial debt inherited by the current board when they took office in 2022. Mansito’s new term begins with unanimous support from the federation’s assembly, which represents clubs, coaches, players, and referees.

Looking ahead, the federation has outlined several strategic priorities. These include modernizing key facilities like the Juan Padrón Complex and the Javier Pérez Sports City—the latter of which is being prepared as a potential sub-venue for the 2030 World Cup. The board also plans to expand development programs for women’s football and futsal, and will establish an Anti-Violence Commission to help curb incidents in grassroots sports.

The path to this re-election has faced challenges. Over the past 18 months, Mansito’s leadership has been subject to public criticism and accusations, all of which the president maintains have been cleared through legal and administrative channels. He insists that the federation has successfully restored its operational stability and transparency since 2022.

Moving forward, Mansito aims to foster growth across the province, strengthen ties with the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and attract major national and international sporting events to the islands.
