AI Predicts Low Numbers for Christmas Lottery "El Gordo"

The Christmas Lottery Draw is almost here, creating excitement in homes and lottery shops across Tenerife. Many shops are busy right up until the last minute, helping players who haven't decided yet to buy their tickets.

This year, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has even made a prediction about which number might win.

If you haven't bought your tickets yet, remember the official sales deadline is December 21st at 10:00 PM. However, physical shops might not stay open that late.

AI looked at data from 213 draws between 1812 and 2024 to predict "El Gordo" – the Christmas Lottery's top prize, which pays out 400,000 euros per ticket.

Historically, the number 5 has been the most common last digit for El Gordo, appearing 32 times. It's followed by 4 and 6. On the other hand, numbers ending in 1, 2, and 9 have been the least common. Of course, this doesn't mean they can't win this year.

AI also noted that in recent decades, many top prizes have gone to numbers between 30,000 and 80,000. In 2024, El Gordo was 72,480.

The ending 85 has also been very lucky, winning seven times throughout history.

For this year's 2025 Christmas Lottery, ChatGPT predicts a lower winning number than usual. It suggests El Gordo could be between 4,000 and 9,000, start with a zero, and end in either 3 or 7.

Some specific numbers highlighted by AI include 04,003, 04,373, 11,044, 11,066, and 11,147. These are reportedly still available for purchase in various places, so you might find them at a lottery shop in Tenerife if they haven't sold out.

However, it's important to remember that these are just predictions, not certainties. The Christmas Lottery is still a game of pure chance, and no prediction can guarantee a win.

The 2025 Christmas Lottery Draw will take place on December 22nd, starting at 8:00 AM (Canary Islands time). While there's no set end time, it usually runs for three to four hours, finishing around 12:30 PM (Canary Islands time).
