The State Meteorological Agency has issued weather warnings for the western Canary Islands as the remnants of storm Therese bring heavy rain, gusty winds, and rare high-altitude frost to the region.

Unsettled weather will continue across the western Canary Islands this Wednesday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). The remnants of storm Therese will bring rain and gusty winds to Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, with officials urging residents in mountainous areas to remain alert.

La Palma is the primary area of concern. AEMET has issued weather warnings for the island’s summits, as well as its eastern and western sectors, where heavy, persistent rain is expected. Due to the island's steep terrain, authorities are monitoring the situation closely.

In addition to the rain, temperatures are set to drop at higher altitudes. Forecasters expect light frost in the high mountain areas of Tenerife and La Palma—a rare occurrence for this subtropical region that highlights the severity of the current weather system.

Across the rest of the province, the forecast calls for variable cloud cover and occasional showers. Moderate northeasterly winds are expected, with stronger gusts likely in areas most exposed to the trade winds. This ongoing instability continues to disrupt daily life across the western islands.
