Aemet Forecasts Unsettled Weather and Strong Winds for Canary Islands
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts unsettled weather for the Canary Islands this Friday, featuring light rain, variable cloud cover, and strengthening westerly winds.
The Canary Islands will experience unsettled weather this Friday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Expect mostly cloudy skies with occasional sunny spells and light rain, which will primarily affect the northern and western parts of the islands.
In Tenerife, rain is expected mainly around midday on the eastern side of the island. Meanwhile, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will stay clearer, though there is a small chance of morning and evening clouds, which could bring some light showers.
Temperatures will climb during the warmest part of the day, particularly in the south. Overnight lows, however, will remain steady or drop slightly.
The wind will play a key role in the day's weather. After a calm morning, westerly winds will pick up, becoming moderate by the afternoon. By nightfall, these winds will strengthen, especially in the far south. Aemet also warns of strong westerly winds and potential gusts at higher altitudes, which may affect conditions in the mountains.
