The Canary Islands will remain stable this Sunday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). Trade winds will keep coastal temperatures mild, though it will be slightly cooler at higher altitudes.
There will be a moderate difference in temperature between the two provincial capitals. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is expected to reach a high of 29°C, while Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will see a high of 27°C. In both cities, temperatures will stay at or above 23°C, maintaining a typical summer feel. This pattern is common for the islands, where the terrain influences how oceanic air moves across the region.
The agency has issued a warning regarding wind and sea conditions. Northeasterly winds are expected at force 4 to 5 on the Beaufort scale, with occasional gusts reaching force 6. This will lead to rough or very rough seas, with a northerly or northeasterly swell producing waves between one and two meters high.
These winds will be most noticeable on the southeast and northwest slopes of the islands. While the weather in urban areas will be pleasant, the agency advises caution for anyone planning nautical activities or visiting exposed coastal areas.
