Aemet predicts high temperatures exceeding 30°C and mostly clear skies across the Canary Islands this Monday.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a day of high temperatures and mostly clear skies across the Canary Islands this Monday.

Temperatures are expected to go above 30°C in several areas. These include southern Fuerteventura, La Gomera, El Hierro, eastern La Palma, large parts of Tenerife's southern slope, and the south, west, and mountain tops of Gran Canaria.

Expect clear skies with occasional high clouds. Nighttime temperatures will rise slightly in mountainous regions, particularly in central La Palma where the increase could be more noticeable. Daytime high temperatures will stay mostly the same.

Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast in the eastern islands and from the east in the western islands. They will change to the southeast by the end of the day. At sea, expect easterly or northeasterly winds of force 3 to 5, leading to choppy or moderate conditions. There will be a northwest swell of 1 to 2 meters. Along the west and northeast coasts, waves will vary from 1 to 3 meters, and the sea will be rippled.

Here's a breakdown for each island:

Gran Canaria Mostly clear with some low and high clouds. Temperatures will be steady, possibly reaching 30°C in mid-level and low-lying areas in both the north and south. Coastal areas will see moderate northeasterly winds, with strong gusts in exposed spots. Inland, winds will be light and changeable. On the mountain tops, expect light to moderate westerly winds.

Lanzarote Partly cloudy or clear with occasional high clouds. Temperatures will be stable, with many areas potentially reaching 30°C. Winds will be easterly, light to moderate along the southern coasts, and light elsewhere.

It could reach 30°C in mid-level and low-lying areas. Coastal areas will have moderate easterly winds, with strong gusts in exposed places during the morning. Inland, winds will be light.

Tenerife Partly cloudy or clear with some low and high clouds. Nighttime temperatures will rise slightly, while daytime highs will remain mostly the same. Temperatures could hit 30°C in low-lying and mid-level areas of the southwest. Coastal winds will be moderate from the northeast, changing to easterly during the day, with strong gusts in exposed areas. Inland, winds will be light.

La Gomera Partly cloudy or clear with occasional high clouds. Nighttime temperatures will be steady, and daytime highs will drop slightly. Winds will be moderate from the northeast.
