"Adiós a la bohemia" Ends Year at Auditorio de Tenerife
Ópera de Tenerife presents Pablo Sorozábal's short opera Adiós a la bohemia, based on a story by Pío Baroja, this Friday and Saturday at the Auditorio de Tenerife, conducted by Víctor Pablo Pérez.
A short opera called Adiós a la bohemia (Goodbye to Bohemia) is coming to the Auditorio de Tenerife. This show, which brings Madrid's bohemian life to the stage, features music by Pablo Sorozábal and a story by Pío Baroja.
Ópera de Tenerife is ending the year with this production from Donostia Musika. It includes a special theatrical introduction where the two creators, Sorozábal and Baroja, have a dialogue. You can catch the performances this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM.
The show's staging was originally conceived by director Ignacio García and his team: set designer Alejandro Contreras, costume designer Ana Ramos, and lighting designer Juanjo Llorens. However, for these performances, Jesús Díaz is responsible for restaging it.
Víctor Pablo Pérez, who is the honorary conductor of the Sinfónica de Tenerife, will lead the orchestra for both performances. Santiago Otero will direct the Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo Resident Choir.
The main singers include soprano Jaquelina Livieri playing Trini, baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez as Ramón, and bass Javier Castañeda as the vagabond. Tenor Joan Laínez takes on two roles: the gentleman reading El Heraldo and Pablo Sorozábal himself in the opening scene.
