Her performance this summer marked two major milestones. First, she won the bronze medal at the Spanish Absolute Individual Championship in Linares, held from August 17 to 25. Shortly after, she defended her national women’s title in the Under-2300 category for the third year in a row in Hoznayo. Her success in Linares is especially notable; finishing with 5 points out of nine rounds behind only Marta García Martín and Sabrina Vega, she proved her skill in classical time-control matches—the most demanding format for professional players.
Beyond her trophies, Rodríguez Redondo’s style of play is evolving. She has moved away from a rigid, strategic approach toward a more dynamic, risk-taking style. This growth mirrors her personal life, as she balances her chess career with university studies in Criminology, Security, and Legal Medicine.
She also credits her recent success to better managing competitive pressure. She notes that time management and the psychological side of the game are often the deciding factors in her matches. These lessons are vital as she works toward her medium-term goals: earning the International Master title and securing a spot on the Spanish Olympic team for the 2028 games in Abu Dhabi.

In Linares, she bounced back from an opening loss to Grandmaster Alexei Shirov to finish the tournament with three wins and a draw. By focusing on consistent improvement rather than obsessing over rankings, Rodríguez Redondo is positioning herself for long-term success on the international stage.
