Adeje to Host University Entrance Preparatory Program for Adults in 2026
The municipality of Adeje will host a university entrance preparatory program for adults aged 25 and over starting in the 2026-2027 academic year to increase higher education accessibility in southern Tenerife.
Higher education is becoming more accessible in the south of Tenerife. The municipality of Adeje has been confirmed as a host site for the 2026-2027 university entrance preparatory program for students aged 25 and over, and 45 and over. Classes will be held at the local Cultural Center, a move designed to make it easier for adults to pursue higher education.
Managed by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), the program aims to provide flexible learning options for adults who may face work or family commitments. While attendance is not mandatory, the university recommends attending in-person sessions to improve the chances of passing the entrance exams.
Registration will take place exclusively online via the ULPGC website from September 15 to October 2, 2026. Because spots are limited, they will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
To be eligible, applicants must turn 25 or 45 by the end of 2027, the year the exams take place. The entrance process varies by age group:
- For those over 25: The exam includes a general phase (text commentary, Spanish language, and English) and a specific phase based on the student's chosen field of study.
- For those over 45: The exam includes a text commentary and a Spanish language test, followed by a mandatory personal interview.
The exams are scheduled for March 2027: March 8–10 for those over 25, and March 9–10 for those over 45. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote lifelong learning, helping adults develop new skills and advance their careers in a competitive job market.
