Adeje to Host International Sustainability Summit 2026
Adeje, Tenerife, will host a major International Conference on ESG Sustainability, Blue Economy, and Circular Economy from February 11 to April 3, 2026, aiming to position the town as a global leader in sustainability and climate action.
Adeje, a town in Tenerife, is set to become a global leader in sustainability and climate action. On February 11, 2026, at noon, it will host the opening event of the International Conference on ESG Sustainability, Blue Economy, and Circular Economy. This major conference will run until April 3 of the same year.
This event is organized by Farra Events, with support from the Adeje City Council and the environmental departments of the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Canary Islands Government. It will be held at the Costa Adeje Tourism Development Center (CDTCA). The conference is also part of the first LostNomads Festival, which highlights Adeje's commitment to a more responsible development model that tackles modern challenges.
The conference will focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, which are increasingly important for responsible investment and business practices. It will also cover the 'blue economy,' vital for island regions, and the 'circular economy,' which promotes reusing and recycling over the traditional 'take-make-dispose' model. This broad approach shows a commitment to comprehensive resource management and building resilient communities.
The conference program is built around four main themes: sustainability and ESG criteria, the blue economy, the circular economy, and social economy, education, and innovation. It will begin with a special screening of the first episode of the documentary series "HOPE! We are on time." Following the screening, Mariano Baratech, the series' producer, will lead a discussion about the creative process and how documentary films can raise awareness and inspire social change.
Over several weeks, the conference will feature specialized presentations, round tables, and professional networking events. Key activities include sessions on corporate sustainability management, in partnership with DIRSE (the Spanish Association of Sustainability Managers). There will also be discussions on best practices for coastal tourism, marine conservation, ocean policies, waste management, and encouraging public involvement in the social economy.
