Adeje Launches Two New TITSA Bus Routes to Improve Connectivity
Tenerife’s Adeje municipality is launching two new TITSA bus routes on August 17 to improve local connectivity and reduce traffic congestion.
Starting Monday, August 17, public transport in the south of Tenerife will see major changes with the addition of two new TITSA bus routes in Adeje. According to the local council, the launch of lines 448 and 449 is part of a plan to improve local travel and reduce the area's heavy reliance on private cars.
Line 448 will run between the town center and the coastal area of La Caleta. This route is designed to help both tourists and local workers, providing easier access to one of the region’s busiest economic hubs.
Line 449 is focused on connecting the mid-altitude communities of Taucho, Tijoco Alto, La Concepción, La Hoya, and Tijoco Bajo with the town center. This service is intended to help residents—particularly the elderly and those without cars—reach essential services and administrative offices more easily.
Mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga stated that the new routes address long-standing requests from residents and should help reduce traffic congestion on main roads. Mercedes Vargas Delgado, head of the Department of Mobility, confirmed that the council will monitor passenger numbers closely to adjust schedules and routes as needed to ensure the service remains efficient.
