Accor Expands into Canary Islands with First Ibis Styles in Tenerife
Accor is expanding its Spanish portfolio by partnering with Stay Unique to open its first Ibis Styles hotel in Tenerife by mid-2027.
Accor is expanding its footprint in the Iberian Peninsula by entering the Canary Islands market. Through a new strategic partnership with Stay Unique, the hotel group plans to open its first Ibis Styles hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, by mid-2027.
Under this franchise agreement, Stay Unique will manage the property’s daily operations. The hotel will undergo a major renovation to meet the design and service standards of the Ibis Styles brand. Once complete, the 101-room property will feature a restaurant, wellness facilities—including a pool and gym—and dedicated spaces for corporate and social events.
For Accor, this move is a vital step in completing its geographical coverage across Spain. Coré Martín, Vice President of Development for Spain and Portugal, noted that the expansion into Tenerife is a key part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the economy hotel sector.
Accor currently operates a strong network of 105 hotels under the Ibis family (Ibis, Ibis Styles, and Ibis Budget) across Spain and Portugal, totaling 10,892 rooms. This new project not only adds a premier tourist destination to the company’s portfolio but also grows the Ibis Styles brand, which currently has 19 locations across the region.
