Abama Resort Launches Wellness and Fine Dining Strategy in Tenerife
Abama Resort in Tenerife is elevating its luxury tourism offering by integrating high-end dining, wellness spa packages, and personalized leisure activities to create a comprehensive lifestyle destination.
Wellness tourism and fine dining are coming together in southern Tenerife, thanks to a new strategy at the Abama Resort in Guía de Isora. The complex is updating its weekend offerings to blend relaxation, health, and high-quality food, aiming to attract both guests staying at its five-star suites—Las Terrazas and Los Jardines de Abama—and local residents.
The heart of this new experience is Plaza Abama, where the Tágara restaurant has launched a brunch service that moves away from traditional buffets. Instead, guests can enjoy a mix of artisanal baked goods alongside made-to-order hot dishes, including several vegan options. To complete the experience, the resort has partnered with Sandára Wellness & Spa to offer packages that combine these meals with hydrotherapy circuits and body treatments.
Beyond brunch, the resort is positioning itself as a complete lifestyle destination by diversifying its dining options. These range from high-end cuisine at Melvin—led by renowned chef Martín Berasategui—to more casual meals at the Atlántico restaurant, which overlooks the resort’s 18-hole golf course.
This shift reflects a growing trend in luxury travel, where guests expect more than just a place to stay; they want a full itinerary of leisure activities. Set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and views of La Gomera, the resort is focusing on personalized service that integrates sports, dining, and relaxation. By moving beyond the traditional "sun and sand" model, Abama Resort is aiming to set a new standard for the Canary Islands tourism market, focusing on the overall quality of the guest experience.
