A tragedy occurred in Tenerife: a fire broke out in a hotel in the north of the island at night, and a 23-year-old Belgian man presumably jumped from the balcony and died.
The fire started around 9 p.m. in one of the hotel rooms in the city of Puerto de la Cruz, on Avenida Venezuela.
Firefighters, medics, and police immediately arrived at the scene.
Police evacuated all residents of the hotel to prevent anyone from getting hurt.
During the evacuation, it became known that a young man had jumped from the balcony. The reasons for this are still unknown.
Police found out that the deceased lived in the very room where the fire started.
Investigators are currently considering the theory that this Belgian man may have caused the fire.
Fortunately, the fire did not spread to other rooms, and firefighters quickly extinguished it.
