A large-scale exhibition "Legends of Sports" is opening in Tenerife, featuring unique exhibits, including relics from world and local sports stars, from a Formula 1 car to Usain Bolt's running shoes.

A cool exhibition for sports fans is coming to Tenerife!

The Cabildo of Tenerife is bringing the "Legends of Sport" exhibition from the Sports Museum to the Canary Islands Physical Activity and Sports Fair, ExpoDeca.

The Sports Councilor, Yolanda Moliné, says: "This is the first time the exhibition has come to the Canary Islands! Here you will be able to see unique items that tell the story of sports - both Spanish and world sports. And, of course, there will be a separate section on sports legends from Tenerife."

Moliné attended the opening of the exhibition together with famous athletes from Tenerife, such as Basilio Labrador, Fernando Capdevila and others, as well as the presidents of football and basketball clubs.

What will be there? Imagine: a Ferrari Formula 1 car, three Olympic torches, Miguel Indurain's Tour de France jersey, and even Usain Bolt's sneakers in which he won the Rio Olympics!

The exhibition will be open to everyone from October 2nd to 5th at the Tenerife Exhibition Center. Admission is free, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The director of the Sports Museum, Alfonso Noain, explains: "This exhibition is a place where we honor sports and everything it has given to the world. We are very happy to come to Tenerife, because many great athletes have grown up here!"

The exhibition will feature many exhibits dedicated to football and basketball. You will see items from Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Mbappe, Haaland, Andres Iniesta's jersey from the World Cup final, boots and a ball from the Spain-Malta match (12:1!). And also - jerseys and sneakers of NBA legends such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Stephen Curry and others. And, of course, there will be a separate area about Pau and Marc Gasol - the only Spaniards who have become NBA champions.

Sports legends from Tenerife will also be represented: trophies from the CB Canarias basketball club, historical items from the CD Tenerife football club and other local teams.

You will see the stories of boxer Miguel Velázquez, basketball player Charo Borges, racing driver Fernando Capdevila, athletes Basilio Labrador and Teresa Linares, sailors Alicia Cebrián and Javier Hernández Cebrián, gymnast Ana Bautista, karateka Gloria Casanova and many others. They will also not forget about local sports: Canary wrestling and Paralympic champion Michelle Alonso.

Motorsport fans will be able to see a real Ferrari Formula 1 car driven by Sebastian Vettel, as well as items from Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso and other drivers.

Athletics will also be represented at the exhibition: you will see Usain Bolt's sneakers from the Rio Olympics, items from Ruth Beitia, Sandra Myers and other Spanish athletes. And also - the real sizes of the records in high and long jumps, with sneakers by Mike Powell and Javier Sotomayor, and the jersey in which Eliud Kipchoge broke the world marathon record.

And that's not all! The exhibition will feature exhibits from golf (José María Olazábal's jacket) and tennis (rackets by Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and others).
