In Tenerife, a system for protecting animals from being hit on the TF-1 highway will be installed, road safety will be improved, the Espabilé youth project will be launched, and the Auditorio de Tenerife will be funded.

Tenerife plans to install a system to protect animals from being hit on the southern TF-1 highway, according to Rosa Dávila, head of the local council (Cabildo de Tenerife).

According to her, this will make the roads safer and help modernize them. The priority is to protect both drivers and pedestrians.

Dávila also noted that this highway is one of the most important on the island, with more than 70,000 cars passing through it every day.

How will the system work? Thermal sensors will detect the approach of animals. At this moment, sound and light signals will turn on, which will scare away the animals and prevent them from running onto the road.

This will cost almost 29,000 euros, and the work will last three months. It is expected to set an example for road safety in the Canary Islands.

In addition, protective fences will be installed in Adeje (between kilometers 75 and 77 of the TF-1 highway) to prevent people from crossing the road in undesignated places, especially at night, near shops and entertainment venues. The same will be done on the TF-5 highway, near the Tenerife-Norte airport.

There are also plans to improve the appearance of the slopes near MercaTenerife and make them safer. 3.3 million euros will be allocated for this, and the work will last eight months.

In total, more than 33 million euros will be invested in road safety and modernization.

In addition, Rosa Dávila announced the launch of the Espabilé 2025/2026 project for young people. This is a new initiative to involve more than 2,000 young people aged 14 to 30 from across the island.

The program aims to give young people more opportunities by involving them in active participation, practical training, and budget allocation.

330,052 euros will be invested in Espabilé 2025/2026. This underscores the importance of providing young people with the tools to develop independence, creativity, and social responsibility.

In the field of culture, the local council (Government Council) has made changes to the budget to allocate funds to the organization Auditorio de Tenerife, S.A.

In particular, the program and equipment of Auditorio de Tenerife SAU will be replenished with new contributions in the amount of 550,000 euros. This money will go to national and international meetings, the production of the zarzuela Adiós a la Bohemia, the choral symphony program, and the purchase of a harpsichord.

According to representatives of the local council, this will make the program more diverse, improve the cultural image, and provide the Auditorium with the necessary equipment to perform historical works and large-scale projects.
