The giant gas carrier BW Brussels recently docked in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It transports liquefied natural gas (LNG).
This beauty is 295 meters long and over 43 meters wide! It sails under the flag of Singapore. It was built back in 2009 in South Korea, at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering shipyard.
This giant weighs over 103,000 tons and can carry more than 84,000 tons of cargo on board, making it one of the largest in its field!
BW Brussels arrived at the capital's port on August 8, 2025, from the Greek city of Revithoussa. It covered over 2,200 nautical miles in just five days, sailing at a speed of about 15 knots.
It is currently submerged in water by 9.6 meters, which shows approximately how much cargo it is carrying.
Such vessels are very important for global energy, as they transport huge volumes of LNG between different parts of the planet.
