A migrant who arrived by boat from Mauritania has died in El Hierro.
A man, who was brought by boat from Mauritania to the island of El Hierro and hospitalized with hypothermia, has died in a hospital in Tenerife.
Unfortunately, the man who was brought by boat to the island of El Hierro on Saturday and sent to a hospital in Tenerife the same day due to severe hypothermia, died on Monday, the hospital reported.
He arrived on the boat with 63 other people to the port of La Restinga on El Hierro. The boat made it there on its own.
Another man from the same boat was taken to a hospital in El Hierro. The boat arrived on the island at 6:33 a.m., after spending four days traveling from Nouadhibou, Mauritania.
The people on the boat were from Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea Conakry, and Gambia.
