An 85-year-old fisherman died after falling from the cliffs into the sea at San Marcos beach in Icod de los Vinos.
On Wednesday, a tragedy occurred: on the beach of San Marcos, near the town of Icod de los Vinos, an 85-year-old fisherman fell from the cliffs into the sea and died.
According to rescuers, the call came in at two o'clock in the afternoon. Rescue services, medics, firefighters, the Civil Guard, and the police immediately went to the scene.
Firefighters were the first to find the man. He was lifted out of the water by a rescue service helicopter. Unfortunately, when he was retrieved, he was no longer breathing. Medics tried to resuscitate him, but unfortunately, without success. Doctors pronounced him dead.
The Civil Guard is currently investigating the circumstances of the tragedy. The local police assisted the rescuers.
