
71-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in Tenerife Apartment Fire
A 71-year-old woman was seriously injured and another person moderately injured in a house fire in Las Galletas, Southern Tenerife, on Tuesday evening, with both victims treated for smoke inhalation.
A 71-year-old woman was seriously injured in a house fire in Southern Tenerife. Another person suffered moderate injuries, and both victims were treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out on Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Neighbors reported the blaze in an apartment building on Casiano Alfonso Hernández street, in the Las Galletas area, on the coast of Arona.
Emergency services quickly responded, dispatching firefighters from Las Chafiras, two ambulances (one advanced life support, one basic life support), Civil Guard officers, and local police from Arona.
Civil Guard officers evacuated all residents from the building, according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes).
The seriously injured woman was taken by advanced life support ambulance to Hospital del Sur in El Mojón. The other person affected was also transported to the emergency department of the same hospital.
