Santa Cruz de Tenerife concludes its carnival calendar with the 55th historic vehicle parade, showcasing 33 classic cars from 1923-1935 and period-dressed participants, offering a glimpse into the island's automotive past.

Piñata Sunday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife ends with a special event: the 55th historic vehicle parade. It's more than just a show; it's like a time capsule, offering a glimpse into how the island's technology and society have changed over the years. This parade is now a key event for keeping automotive history alive.

Thirty-three cars, all made between 1923 and 1935, will drive through the main streets of Tenerife's capital. These vehicles bring back a key time when American cars, made more affordable by special tariffs, first started to motorize the islands. The Tenerife Antique Automobile Club has organized this event for over 50 years, showing how important it is to preserve these classic examples of engineering and design. Abel Febles, the club's president, will join the parade in a 1929 Ford Model A – a famous car from that time – instead of his usual 1927 Overland.

The day kicks off at 10:00 AM in García Sanabria Park. Participants, dressed in clothes from the 1920s and 1930s, will bring the era to life. Swing music and dance will add to the historical atmosphere, giving the public a truly immersive experience. The main parade route begins at noon, with a Local Police escort to keep everyone safe and traffic moving smoothly. There will be a special stop on Francisco La Roche Avenue, where people can get a closer look at these classic cars.

The event will finish at the Real Club Náutico de Tenerife, where owners and enthusiasts will enjoy a fellowship lunch and awards will be presented. This parade is known as one of the most unique ways to close the carnival calendar, blending tradition with historical insight and a great show.
