24th Clásica Tenerife Rally Unveils Two-Weekend, Multi-Island Route
The 24th Clásica Tenerife classic car rally, featuring 80 vehicles, was presented yesterday, set to tour Tenerife and La Palma over two weekends in November.
The 24th Clásica Tenerife classic car rally was officially presented yesterday at the Palacio de Carta in Tenerife's capital. This year's event will take place over two weekends. The first part is scheduled for November 31st, November 1st, and November 2nd, covering the islands of Tenerife and La Palma. The second part will be held on November 7th, 8th, and 9th, exclusively in Tenerife. Eighty classic vehicles are expected to participate, showcasing 23 different brands and 61 unique models.
Leopoldo Mansito Pérez, who oversees the route and directs the race, shared details about the first weekend's journey. It kicks off on Friday, November 31st, with technical checks and the official start from Parque García Sanabria in Tenerife's capital. Drivers will make a midday stop at Los Acantilados de Los Gigantes in Santiago del Teide before heading to Santa Cruz de La Palma in the afternoon. The second stage travels from the capital to Los Llanos de Aridane, where a special 'Targa' event will be held on a road built over volcanic lava. Afterwards, participants will return to Santa Cruz de La Palma. On November 2nd, the rally will make its way back to Tenerife.
The second weekend begins on November 7th with the fourth stage, running between Santa Cruz and La Laguna. The classic cars will be showcased in La Laguna's historic center. On November 8th, the fifth stage will lead the rally through Las Cañadas del Teide and the island's southern region, including a stop in Santiago del Teide. The sixth and final stage, on November 9th, will be a circuit along Rambla de Santa Cruz and Avenida Benito Pérez Armas. This route pays tribute to the Gran Premio de Tenerife, which was held in the same area in 1965.
