The 19th International 6Cuerdas Festival is set to fill the Canary Islands with guitar music from November 1 to 29. This year, the festival features about a dozen events, all centered around the guitar, across Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, Lanzarote, and La Palma. Leading artists from around the world are set to perform, including Brazil's Gabriel Selvage, Switzerland's Sandro Schneebeli, and Spain's Rycardo Moreno. The festival was announced yesterday in La Laguna by Adrián del Castillo, the municipality's Culture Councilor, and festival director Tomás López Cruz. The announcement event also featured a performance by Tenerife guitarist Jonay Mesa.

The festival kicks off this Saturday, November 1, at 8:00 PM with a concert by Gabriel Selvage, a master of the Brazilian seven-string guitar, at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
