In the port of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, police and customs officers caught a big fish – a whole 130 kilograms of cocaine! The drugs were hidden in a container that arrived from Brazil. It is said that they could have been sold for more than 3.5 million euros on the black market.
It all happened on September 22. Customs officers from the Canary Islands, together with police officers, were checking containers. And in one of them, which arrived from the Brazilian city of Paranaguá and was heading to Tenerife, they found a "surprise".
When they started to disassemble the container, they saw boxes with markings in the back. They opened them and found 107 packages hidden between the meat. They checked and it turned out to be cocaine.
The find was confiscated and reported to the court of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
