The Cabildo de Tenerife's ISOS project has launched internships for 100 unemployed women across nearly 70 companies, aiming to provide professional experience and boost their job prospects.

This week, 100 women in Tenerife began internships at nearly 70 companies, as part of the ISOS project. This program, run by the Cabildo de Tenerife, aims to help unemployed women who have qualifications but no professional experience in their chosen field find work.

Rosa Dávila, president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, explained that the companies involved come from a wide range of sectors. These include retail, technology, education, beauty, environmental services, department stores, non-profit organizations, and other businesses across the island's economy.

The women taking part have diverse professional backgrounds, with qualifications in areas like administration, human resources, education, environmental sciences, and various technical and university degrees.

"These internships offer a real chance for participants to show their skills to companies, gain experience, and boost their prospects for stable, good-quality jobs," the president said.

The Cabildo is investing 700,000 euros in this project, which is an increase of 200,000 euros from its original budget.

Participants will receive up to 750 euros a month to help with transport and living costs. An extra 150 euros a month is also available for those who need to balance their work with caring for young children or dependent family members.

The ISOS Project is part of Tenerife's wider plan to help women find employment. Since it started in 2018, the project has helped over 400 women, with 200 of them finding jobs in the last two years, according to the Cabildo.

The program focuses on tailored training, one-on-one advice, and connecting women with companies across various sectors. It also includes financial support to ensure women can take part, particularly those with family responsibilities.
